Analisis Konten TikTok ‘Dokter Detektif’ dalam Edukasi Publik melalui Review Skincare

This study aims to analyze the TikTok content of the @dokterdetektif account in enhancing public Education through skincare product reviews. The phenomenon arises from the increasing circulation of illegal skincare products, prompting figures like Dokter Detektif to create educational and critical content. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with content analysis and interviews involving five Generation Z informants, this study explores how TikTok functions as a digital educational platform. Pierre Levy’s New Media Theory serves as the main theoretical foundation, highlighting the interactive, multimedia, networking, and digitalized nature of content shared on the platform. The findings show that @dokterdetektif’s content demonstrates key characteristics of new media, making it participatory and capable of fostering public literacy on safe skincare choices. Informants reported gaining better awareness of product ingredients, claims, and legal status through these videos. Thus, TikTok as a form of new media proves effective in disseminating information and influencing public awareness of skin health issues in a critical and engaging manner.
